Are You Ready For Some Football?

Here it is, folks. After six months, we have a very unexpected, but equally welcome, Super Bowl matchup. We watched two fantastic games on Sunday, with the Patriots and Giants each pulling out close victories. As we head down to Arizona, there are lots of unanswered questions: will the aging Pats linebacker corps be able to stop the Giants' explosive running game? Will the banged-up Giants secondary hold together for one more game? And, most importantly, who will Colin root for?

Don't read anything into these pictures; mom was on wardrobe duty.

Christmas Week

Colin got to meet the Geis-man, a truly memorable experience.

Already in training for Mecox Beach.

I'm really regretting the camera battery thing. Mom and Dad did a lot of relaxing last week. Colin visited the Botanical Gardens' Train Show. During his first New Year's Eve, he didn't make it until midnight, and neither did Dad. Dad went to the Giants game to watch the Patriots go undefeated for the season. We finally made it home a few days later, and unpacked the stroller, the extra formula, the bouncy chair...

I'll Be Home For Christmas

The early-morning, sleep-deprived, mad rush from Boston to Bronxville has become an annual holiday tradition for us. It started in 1999, when Kerry and I made the first trip in my old '86 Corolla (190K miles!), with no heat.

This year, we packed up the Pilot with the crib, stroller, extra formula, bathtub, bouncy chair, bottle warmer, bottle sterilizer, extra pacifiers and a cooler full of bottles. (And Colin.) I probably drove a little more slowly, but the trip was extra special. Not only was it his first Christmas, and all that that entails, but we were heading to the Murrays to meet more family (if one can imagine such a thing).

Apparently, the one thing we forgot was an extra camera battery, so the pictures start getting sparse around here...

The First Noel

Colin's first Christmas Eve as a Brown.

God help the poor kid.

Bananas!

Really? I've been drinking this formula for four months. And you never bothered to tell me about the bananas? Really? You guys are unbelievable!

It doesn't look like it in this picture, but Colin loves the cereal/bananas combination. I'm almost positive that we got some into his mouth.

Here comes the parade of funky Christmas outfits...

"Nice. I look like a giant candy cane."

Holiday Hangover

Since early December we've been on a whirlwind tour of parties and celebrations. Not a lot of free time in front of the computer, so no posts for the past three weeks. (I know, these excuses are becoming more frequent.)

Anyway, we had some great times these past few weeks, beginning with the grandaddy of all holiday parties at Kristen's. Does the fact that there really was a grandaddy in attendance make it a better party? I don't really remember.

No Colin in these pics, but plenty of joyous holiday merry-making:
